How to practice to improve (part 1)

I’m going to help you out by doing some posts on how to practice to actually improve your golf game and lower your scores.

These tips that I’m going to give you are not going to be your typical type of tips on how to improve by practicing. And if you’re in the routine of just going out and hitting 50 balls normally then you’re missing so much from what you could actually do to improve.

So in the first (different) golf tip today I’m going to give you a suggestion to help your game in a lot of way’s and here it is…

If you’re a right-handed golfer I want you to get a left-handed club and practice with that. It could be just to warm up with. So you could start your practice session with 10 shots with a left-handed club. This will do a couple of positive things…

1. It will help you to loosen up your body.
2. It will give you a new appreciation for swinging right-handed!
3. It will help your body by using different muscles.
4. If you do this enough it will help you hit longer shots.

There’s a number of videos around of top golfers hitting shots left-handed. I’ve seen Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, and Dustin Johnson doing it. Also, it’s no secret that programs designed for faster swing speeds have swinging left-handed in them.
