For most golf nerds, the PGA Merchandise Show is like being a kid in a candy store.
Aside from the numerous OEMs showing off their latest advancements in golf club design, there are so many other companies demoing launch monitors, simulators, bags, headcovers and more.
But for GOLF’s Fully Equipped co-host Wadeh Maroun, one product category really stood out to him from this year’s show.
“Recovery was a huge section,” Maroun said on this week’s episode. “Definitely something I want to jump into a lot because I think one of the big things about ‘Fully Equipped’ — the podcast and what we do here — is I think we need to equip people with the understanding of what recovery does and why recovery is very, very important. But there was a lot of recovery stuff out there.”
Perhaps the biggest showstopper was Hyperice’s new recovery shoes made in collaboration with Nike.

“So you can walk around in it, do whatever you want, but it compresses and heats and it’s got a vibration function in there as well,” Maroun said. “It felt great. But the coolest part is it’s a shoe. So you can walk around and do stuff while you’re doing it. Like I could be sitting here right now.”
Hyperice has lots of other recovery devices like leg sleeves or boots, but they require you to stay stationary while you’re getting the treatment.
Hyperice wasn’t the only recovery-product maker on display at the show, and Maroun said the prominent display of recovery products in Orlando underscores the importance of recovery for your golf game.
“I think recovery is important. I go see a stretch doctor once every couple of weeks,” he said. “Yeah, recovery was a big thing. So the biggest takeaway I took from the show was the recovery side and the technology side.”
