Despite weather worries, the opening round of the 2024 PGA Championship went off without a hitch on Thursday. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about Friday’s second round.

Early Friday morning, PGA Championship tournament officials announced in a press release that the start of the second round would be delayed Friday morning due to a “serious accident near the course.”

No further details about the nature of the accident were provided, but the statement said another update would be provided at 7 a.m. ET. Furthermore, the start of the round would be delayed at least one hour from the time of that update.

Then at 7:40 a.m. ET, tournament officials provided an update via press release, announcing that the second round would get underway at 8:35 a.m. ET. In all, tee times would be delayed 1 hour and 20 minutes. You can see the updated second-round PGA Championship tee times for Friday here. This post will be updated once more information becomes available.
