He four-putted his ultimate hole. He played the final three holes at four-over.    

And then, despite becoming toward the top of the leaderboard, Ryan Daly had been gone.  

In a strange sequence over the Regions Tradition, the first primary on the PGA Tour Champions circuit, Daly shot a great even-par 72 during Friday’s second round at Greystone Golf and Country Club around Alabama, sat in a wrap for 16th at the half way point, then was disqualified for failing to indicator his scorecard. It was a breach of Rule 3. 3b (2), which states : “The player must approve the hole scores on the scorecard and promptly return the idea to the Committee after which the gamer must not change the scorecard. Should the player breaches any of these specifications in Rule 3. 3b, the player is disqualified. ”

Why Daly failed to sign remains some sort of mystery. At four-under over-all, he was seven strokes at the rear of leader Steve Stricker entering Saturday’s third spherical, and in 102 Champions begins, Daly had never also been DQ’d.  

During Thursday’s first round, Daly hit a four-under 68 not to mention was three strokes over lead. On Friday, this individual remained in contention, birdieing the 13th, 16th, eighteenth and 2nd holes (he started on the back nine), before a disastrous color.  

To the 207-yard, par-3 7th, according to the Champions’ online scoreboard , Daly hit his tee picture into the rough, then needed three additional shots before completing with a double-bogey five. He / she parred the 448-yard, par-4 8th. Then on the 429-yard, par-4 9th, Daly determined the green in regulation, ahead of the four-putt and a double-bogey six.  

With the first two days of the tourney, typically the Champions Twitter feed twice shared best parts of Daly’s play, and after Thursday’s first round, having been among those who talked for you to reporters afterward.  

“The second pin, I missed a good opportunity for birdie, and then the third pin, I hit a good pitching wedge, it just wasn’t long enough and i also made bogey, ” Daly said. “Other than the fact that, it was pretty solid. My partner and i gave myself a lot of chances, I left a lot on the market, got a couple of good pops, too. It was a good time for me. ”

Daly’s next start can be another major championship. Typically the 1991 PGA Championship winner is currently in the field for upcoming week’s PGA, to be tried at Southern Hills within Tulsa, Okla.
