If you’re looking for a stylish way to kick off the spring golf season, a new carry bag is a great place to start, and Sunday Golf’s Ryder S-Class bag ticks all the right boxes, regardless of whether you like to walk or ride.
This week, I had a chance to test the bag, and here’s what I liked best.
Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class golf bag highlights
First, the color! This bag comes in six different color options, and I love the matte finish and clean overall look. The dusty pink is a really attractive shade — not too bright and flashy, but still eye-catching. And the matching legs are a nice touch.
I actually like this bag in every color: In addition to the pink I tried, there’s also white, cream, black, navy blue and olive green. They all look clean and luxe.
The next feature that impressed me was the ample storage. I counted no less than eight roomy pockets, and I appreciated that some of them were devoted to specific storage functions. In addition to the standard large side pocket and ball pocket, there was also a velour-lined valuables pocket, another one with internal elastic storage, and my personal favorite, the “Frosty Pocket,” which can hold — and keep cold! — up to four beverages. Awesome!
After experimenting with many different bag-top configurations over the course of my golf life, I believe the five-way top is my favorite. Any larger, and my putter will slip under the bottom compartment and I have to potentially embarrass myself digging it out. (I know I should keep the putter cover on but sometimes that is just too much effort. A top with too many club slots just feels overwhelming — and required you to be too precise putting each club away. So, I appreciated the five-way top on this bag, which made slipping clubs in and out a breeze, and kept my putter in its place too.
I’ve never had a bag with a Velcro glove patch before, so as someone who is constantly returning to the previous green to retrieve my glove because it’s fallen out of my pocket, I really love utilizing this feature on the Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class. Now my glove is always visible and accounted for!
