The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week with the 2022 BMW Championship, which begins on Thursday with the opening round at Wilmington Country Club. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 on TV or online.

Previewing BMW Round 1

At last year’s BMW Championship, Patrick Cantlay outlasted Bryson DeChambeau in a tense playoff to capture his third win of the season. The win moved Cantlay into first place in the FedEx Cup standings, which he rode to capture the 2021 FedEx Cup title and, later, Player of the Year honors.

But this year the story is a little different. Though solidly ranked at No. 7, Cantlay no longer holds the top spot, which was overtaken by Will Zalatoris last week. In addition, if Cantlay is to defend his title he’ll have to do it on a new course, Wilmington Country Club, which takes over hosting duties from last year’s BMW venue, Caves Valley.

Cantlay will also have to deal with a few resurgent Tour pros, such as World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and betting favorite Rory McIlroy.

It all gets started on Thursday, when Cantlay will tee off for his opening round at 2:40 p.m. ET alongside Scheffler. You can stream the first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+, or watch the telecast on Golf Channel.
