Maverick McNealy had aced the 8th at Torrey Pines if he revealed how his picture was even more rare. Not just had he made a cup in one during Friday’s following round of the Farmers Insurance Open source , but he had done so on a day when dealing with 30 family and friends were positioned around the green. Talk about immaculate timing.
“My uncle is a dental practitioner in town, and the dental office accepted the day off and they were found to be all there watching the program was really, really fun, ” McNealy told announcer Amanda Balionis on the CBS broadcast.
“I guess reviewing holes in one is better than removing a few molars out, ” analyst Nick Faldo said.
“That’s a nice remedy treat your family and friends, ” announcer Jack Nantz .
Turns out, McNealy was just paying back one favor.
After his round using 67, which had transmitted him up to a tie to get eighth entering Saturday’s término round, he told reporters that he was “wanting in order to find like grip my putter consistently like a grip exercise. ” And he knew which is his uncle, Bob Randolph, was a dentist. And he considered that dentists have “that stuff they use for effects. ” So …
“We bundled some of that around much of our putter grip on that Monday, so I saved all of our putter grip the way about hands go on the putter on a backup putter with Monday, ” McNealy reported.
And he now his putting-trainer hack with the hands of his holding manufacturer.
“So the Callaway men have it. We’re going to check up it and like multiply it, just have it as virtually any grip trainer, ” McNealy said. “It’s great resulting from I’m playing great i just now, so I want to remember practical ideas on how my hands go. It may be just a funny cross-section about dentistry and golf. ”
Said a major reporter: “Good oral care is important. ”
“Absolutely. Floss every day, ” McNealy said.
