PXG has made a lot of big splashes in the equipment industry since it was founded in 2013. First, it was the original 0311 irons which at the time were some of the most expensive on the market, then fully CNC milled wedges, and from there it’s continued to push design inside of the club space and beyond, even expanding into fashion.
Now after years of working to expand its footprint in another category, PXG is ready to introduce the PXG Xtreme golf ball, designed to balance long-game distance with approach and green-side spin.
“PXG is first and foremost a research and development company,” PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons said. “Everything we do starts with a question, ‘Can we make a better product?’ For a long time, despite our best efforts, we weren’t sure if we could make a better golf ball. But we didn’t stop trying. Adding a new partner to expand our engineering capabilities and leveraging years of data and testing, we are pleased and proud to finally introduce a golf ball good enough to earn the PXG name.”
Inside the design
The PXG Xtreme golf balls are a three-piece construction and feature a 338 dimple pattern. Between the soft uretahne cover and the inner core is a firm ionomer mantle designed to maximize distance, while still offering softer feel that many golfers prefer.
The 338 dimple pattern has been engineered to offer flight characteristics that maximize height while also maintaining stability off longer clubs and trajectory control for shorter irons and wedges. The PXG golf ball also presents an enhanced alignment logo to help golfers line their ball up on the green.
Where and how to buy
PXG Xtreme golf balls are now available today through PXG’s retail stores and partners, over the phone with PXG Player Support, and on www.PXG.com. They will also be available to order directly from Amazon starting in March.
The PXG Xtreme golf balls are priced at $39.99 a dozen.
