Realizing not everyone has the time to consume every piece of content on club launch days, we’re offering a fresh version of our detailed tech write-ups that hits the high points. Here’s what you need to know about Cobra’s newest Air-X series metal woods and irons.

Lighter means faster

Cobra Air-X driver Cobra Golf

It’s no secret that golfers swing lighter golf clubs faster, and at only 290 grams (which includes a 41 gram grip and 50 gram shaft), the Air-X driver from Cobra is right around 40 grams lighter than the standard Cobra Aerojet driver. This makes it easier to swing and control for golfers in the moderate swing speed category.

This formula is repeated through the entire line from driver through to irons and also includes specifically tuned models for women.

Fulls sets available

For those golfers who want technology, value, and everything to match — you’re in luck because Cobra’s Air-X series is available in a full package set from driver to putter that even includes a bag.

The Air-X comes in men’s and women’s complete sets Cobra Golf

The men’s package set includes the choice of a lite flex set featuring an 11.5 degree driver, or a regular flex set featuring a 10.5 degree driver. The set is completed with a 3-wood, 4-hybrid, 5-hybrid, 6-iron to a pitching wedge plus a sand wedge and a Cobra blade putter. Unfortunately the only option not available is left-handed.

The women’s set comes standard with a cart bag, 15-degree driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 5-hybrid, 6-iron to a pitching wedge, plus a sand wedge and a Cobra mallet putter.

Slice elimination option

For golfers who tend to fade the ball and need a little extra help finding fairways, one key piece of design technology that Cobra continues to incorporate into its wood line that many manufacturers have abandoned is offset.

This offset hosel encourages a more square clubface at impact by placing the shaft in front of the face to reduce a slice or create a draw. Another added benefit of more offset in woods is it makes them easier to launch higher and straighter too.

To boost MOI and draw bias even further, a 26-gram weight pad has been added internally to the back and heel side for the club to encourage faster face rotation and gear effect to encourage a draw-biased ball flight.

The new Air-X fairways feature many of the same technologies as the driver including heel-bias weighting for increased forgiveness along with a forged H.O.T. Face insert for increased ball speed and added distance.

Lighter and higher

The Air-X Irons are designed to increase iron trajectory and feature Cobra’s improved H.O.T. Face technology, a new speed channel, and an updated iron profile that is shallower in the long irons and higher in the short irons for trajectory control.

The H.O.T. face tech saves weight from the face that can be positioned lower in the head, and when combined with a 10% increase in offset, helps to launch the ball higher and stop it faster on longer approach shots into greens. The irons are finished with an aluminum and TPU Medallion to dampen vibrations and improve overall sound and feel at impact.
