Toulon’s Small Batch putters emphasize the word “small,” because this isn’t your run-of-the-mill special release. Only 75 were made and distributed worldwide by Toulon, upping the exclusivity of these unique creations.
The latest Toulon and Sons Scotland Small Batch checks a myriad of boxes for putter aficionados. Toulon Golf was founded in 2015 — it’s currently run by industry lifer Sean Toulon and two of his sons, Tony and Preston — but if the putter manufacturer had been established a century and a half ago in Scotland, it might have been called Toulon and Sons.
Hence, the throwback name for a putter blending old-school accents with forward-thinking design attributes.
Made from 904L stainless steel, the cavity-back pintail design sports a modified H1 hosel and squared-off shoulders and bumpers. The blade length was lengthened by 4.5 inches, and widened, to bring the head to modern proportions. The size increase serves another benefit, increasing the overall MOI (Moment of Inertia) for improved stability on off-center strikes.

The cavity design allows us to bring the design into modern proportion for both length and width but it also improves the Scotland’s MOI to make it very forgiving.
Upon close inspection of the topline – and most evident while looking at the putter from the face on perspective – you’ll notice the gently raised and curved topline design. This not only pays homage to great pintail designs from the past, but subtly moves the CG to the center of the putter head, improving sound and feel and overall performance.
To finish Small Batch Scotland, we collaborated with our dear friends at Seamus Golf to create a beautiful wool Toulon & Sons headcover featuring an iconic Scottish tartan pattern.

When addressing the putter, golfers will likely notice the raised topline in the toe. Known as a classic “pintail” design, the subtle shaping change shifts the center of gravity to the middle of the head for enhanced sound, feel and performance benefits.
The sole is inspired by the classic storefront signage of the original club-making shops that once lined the streets next to the 18th hole of the Old Course at St. Andrews. The dog silhouette positioned on the toe section is significant for several reasons. On Sundays, the Old Course shuts down and turns into a park frequented by pooches. Many of the family-owned club-making businesses lining the street in St. Andrews also had a shop dog.
In this case, Toulon chose a silhouette of their shop dog, Jack, who sadly and unexpectedly passed one month ago. The silhouette on the putter turned into an unintentional tribute to their beloved pup.
Each putter is protected by a Scottish-tartan-inspired wool headcover — a collaboration between Toulon and Seamus Golf.
“They have been friends of ours for about a decade now and we definitely wanted to work with them on something of this ilk,” said Preston Toulon, “It’s the perfect cherry on top of this project.”
The putter is currently sold out on Toulon’s official site, but Fairway Jockey has a limited supply of Toulon and Sons Scotland Small Batch putters (35 inches) available for $1,800. And check out the entire Toulon putter lineup here.
