Michelle Wie Western side is looking ahead. And, to foreseeable future, saying goodbye for any LPGA Tour.

Wie West told Golfweek ‘s Beth Ann Nichols that most she plans to play 2nd week’s U. S. Female Open at Pine Needles in North Carolina previously stepping away from the LPGA Excursion. Beyond that, Wie W. is only planning for the 2023 U. S. Women’s Exposed at Pebble Beach at this time.

It isn’t a set-in-stone retirement — “I’m definitely not ruling most things out, ” she suggested Nichols — but the girl with ready for the next chapter.

Wie West, 32, has struggled injuries for much of your spouse career and has played moderately over the last few years. She came into five events in 2019, missed three cuts yet withdrew from another event. She took 2020 down from and gave birth to her daughter, Makenna, in May 2020, and made a brief bring back to play six events (making two cuts) in 2021.

Her primarily just event this year has been the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament together with Champions in January. Your girl opened with a one-under 71 but closed 78-78-81 in addition tied for 28th.

Wie West said Nichols that her vital title and Stanford course (she graduated in 2012), put her at peace with her decision.

“Because I accomplished both of those, I think I feel pleased in my decision now, ” Wie West said. “I think if I hadn’t earned the U. S. Amenable, I’d still be out there vying week to week hoping to get that U. S. Widen win. ”
