The first tournament of 2022 on the American mainland is in the books and with it, we take another look at the PGA Tour’s stat leaders. Hudson Swafford took the title in Palm Springs with a superb Sunday charge, and the victory vaulted him into the top 10 of the FedEx Cup standings. Here are three other players among the stat leaders who caught our eye:
1. Collin Morikawa. Of the 10 key stat categories listed below, Morikawa appears in the top 10 in six times. That includes his greens-in-regulation percentage of 79.17, tied for tops on Tour.
2. Aaron Wise. Wise quietly put together an excellent start to his 2021-22 campaign with no finishes outside the top 30 during his five starts last fall. His quality play is further highlighted by his scoring average of 69.641, good for sixth on Tour this season.
3. Jon Rahm. Although Rahm was a bit irked by the course setup in Palm Springs, he still registered a top-15 finish in the desert. With the schedule ramping up in the new year, the world No. 1 continues to lead the Tour in scrambling (78.05) and is in the top 10 in three other categories.
Here is the rundown of the PGA Tour’s stats leaders in 10 key categories.
