After three sunny and crisp days north of the border, we’ve officially reached the end of the RBC Canadian Open. Below, find everything you need to know about tournament purse, including prize money, winner’s share, and complete payout information
RBC Canadian Open final round preview
Robert MacIntyre is becoming somewhat of a fan favorite on the PGA Tour, but while the Scot has a four-stroke lead heading into the final round of the RBC Canadian this week, he won’t be who the home crowd is cheering for.
After Nick Taylor broke a nearly seven-decade-long winless streak for Canadians in their national open, Mackenzie Hughes has a chance to make it back-to-back Cannucks keeping the Canadian Open trophy at home.
Not only would it be another home-country win for Canadians, but Hughes grew up less than 10 miles from Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Should he collect his third PGA Tour title Sunday, it would be a true hometown win.
“I never get cheered for like this before or really ever, because when I’m playing in the U.S., I mean, I’m pretty much a nobody, so being here at home you feel like they’re really pulling you across the line,” Hughes said. “I made a putt on 10 and it was just like, it was like chills. The putt went in, the crowd went nuts, and just some of those moments and things I felt I’m remember for a long time. I know tomorrow will be even more special and hopefully we can put up a low one.”
But of course, not only will Hughes be chasing MacIntyre, but he’ll also be trying to stave off other chasers like Ben Griffin, Ryan Fox, Tommy Fleetwood and more. And they’re not just playing for the thrill of winning. The winner will get a nice check for a cool $1.692 million.
Below is everything you need to know about the RBC Canadian Open’s $9.4 million purse; you can catch the action from 2:30 p.m. ET until the completion of play on CBS.
